“Everything is entirely plant-based … but I wanted to make our offerings kind of familiar so that someone who isn’t vegan can still walk up to our truck and see something familiar without being scared away,” Chelsey said.

Customers can donate $7 to buy a meal ticket. Once a month, they go into low-income areas and food deserts to give away food that’s been purchased through the meal tickets.
The duo is working with the City Council to pinpoint the best spots to set up.
“I’ve always been passionate about people having access to healthy, affordable food,” Chelsey said.
The Green Tambourine is also at the Chattanooga Market each Sunday. Ryan and Chelsey have also booked events and have plans to set up outside businesses, if possible.
Chelsey said she has always had a passion for cooking and had plans to open a restaurant, but there’s less overhead cost involved in a food truck, so she decided to start with that.
