Police investigate a double shooting at an apartment building at 2757 Kipling in Toronto

Toronto police are investigating after a man and a pregnant woman were shot inside a Kipling Avenue apartment building.

Paramedics responded to a call at a high-rise apartment building on Kipling Ave., near Steeles Ave., just after 1 find a female in her late teens and a male in his early 20s with gunshot wounds.

Two young children, believed to be aged 4 and 8, were in another room at the time but were not injured.

Taverner said police arrested the 23-year-old boyfriend in hospital because he's wanted for attempted murder in an alleged home invasion and shooting as well as for other unspecified charges. There are a lot of different things that could have happened here.

While there is some video surveillance footage of the incident, police are asking for the public's assistance to help identify the gunmen.
