Iowa City police have arrested a Michigan man they say fired a gun in southeast Iowa City.

According to a news release, officers responded to the Town and Campus Apartments on the 1100 block of Arthur Street at about 12:49 a.m. Monday for multiple reports of shots fired.

The shooter was identified by witnesses as D'Anthony Money, 29, of Holland, Mich., police said. Several shots were fired at the apartment complex, according to the complaints.

Police said witnesses directed them to an address on the 1200 block of Esther Court, where they applied for and served a search warrant. The University of Iowa Police then used a munitions detection K-9 unit to find a firearm and ammunition, the release stated. The gun was found at Money's sister's residence, where police had spotted Money shortly after the shooting. He was attempting to flee the area, police said.

An ongoing feud reportedly led to the shooting, according to police, and the shots were not directed at any specific person.

Money was arrested on an outstanding warrant unrelated to this incident, police said, and has previous felony convictions from 2006 and 2007, as well as domestic abuse from 2004 and 2005.

Money has been charged with going armed with intent and possession of a firearm by a felon, both class D felonies punishable by up to five years in prison. He is currently being held in the Johnson County Jail.

The incident remains under investigation, the release said. The Iowa City police Department was assisted by the University of Iowa Police and Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
