NBA club Houston Rockets has reportedly signed China‘s Zhou Qi with a four-year deal.
According to the report by 163.com (link in Chinese), it is a deal of US$5.57 million with league minimum wage during all four years. The Houston Rockets have an option for the fourth year.
Standing at 7-foot-2, 21-year-old Zhou Qi was chosen by Houston Rockets with the 43rd overall picks in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, they didn't sign Zhou last season.
Zhou played for the Chinese Basketball Association club Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the 2016-2017 season. Averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks, Zhou helped his club defeat former NBA player Yi Jianlian’s Guandong Southern Tigers and win its first CBA championship in the history.
Zhou is expected to be the sixth Chinese player in the NBA after Wang Zhizhi, Yao Ming, Mengke Bateer, Yi Jianlian and Sun Yue.
